Bigmat Italia
A path of systematic and ongoing IT digitization, started in 2015, allows BigMat to use all the power of the cloud, big data and mobility as a strategic development engine. This is the purpose of the innovation technology project that YouCo developed for BigMat, the first Group in Italy of independent distributors of materials for building, restructuring and renovating homes, now present in Italy with 170 Points of Sale.
The first step involved in the design of a single IT system to share all the Group’s data: products, conventions, agreements, information on purchases, sales and attachments. The implementation of BigData, whose strength lies in its usability (responsive, mobile app., ease of use, etc.), allowed BigMat to have a ’single source of data for the internal and external communication system and for work and design tools.
This is the starting point that allowed the development of the Intranet, web portal and members’ websites.
The second step of the project focused on the user experience on the BigMat web portal.
The months following the publication of the website were essential to understand the methods with which users browsed and any issues found, as well as the starting point for improving the user experience of the portal. Thanks to the heuristic analysis carried out, it was possible to implement the restyling of the browsing of both the portal and the members’ websites.
This activity led to a web portal able to vaporise not only BigMat, but also all the 170 points of sale directly reachable by it.
