Città di Segrate
YouCo responded to the request from the Segrate Municipality to create its new institutional website, providing its knowledge and expertise in the creation of web solutions for Public Administration and integrating these with the guidelines provided by AgID and the model for the most up-to-date Municipalities of Designer Italia.
YouCo is also one of the first private companies in Italy to have participated in similar Public Administration projects.
An open-source solution was used for the development of the website, in order to cut implementation costs while guaranteeing the quality of the product, using solutions already adopted in the past for the development of Public Administration web solutions.
In order to achieve this, Municipality staff were involved in the different phases, with releases managed in intermediate steps to ensure time optimisation and the correct functioning of the agreed specifications.
First, we defined the goals:
- to create a usable and accessible tool, in accordance with the regulations in force for websites promoted by AgID, making user operations simpler and more effective
- integrate with the government’s three-year Digital Transformation Plan
For YouCo, it is important to put people and their devices at the centre of every project, to ensure easy and convenient access to content and functionality, without limitations, in any usage situation.
This was achieved through design, using the Design Thinking methodology:
Empathise – Define – Envision – Prototype – Test
This is done to give fluidity to the user’s navigation logic, to improve the website’s internal systems for accessing content, to make the communication of the site’s content effective, and to adapt the site to the Internet user’s own reading standards.
In addition to the modules integrated into our CMS open-source, various customised modules were requested and supplied, implemented on the basis of the customer’s individual needs, and integrated with the layout designed ad-hoc for the website.
Modules include a search by tags (topics) making cross navigation possible, the creation of a button on each page allowing users to express opinions, a system for integrating News and Events, generating an interactive calendar and a Transparent Administration module, in accordance with the guidelines.
