Land Reclamation Authority: solution for managing activities related to the mowing of grass along canals.

In this context, the constant need is to ensure maximum safety for operators who sometimes work several meters away from each other. Land Reclamation Authorities: require controlled planning of activities, planning which can be provided to them by specific applications.

The Client

The client that turned to YouCo to improve its organizational processes, is a Land Reclamation Authority that operates within a very large territory (equal to 3,423 square kilometers), including 68 municipalities in Central Italy, in the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna, Florence, Prato and Pistoia. The purpose of the company, when it turned to YouCo, was to make the various activities more efficient and to offer high quality and functional services to its territory. In order to develop an innovative project, the Land Remediation Authority chose YouCo as its technological partner in all stages of the remediation process, achieving all the established objectives.

How did the activity of the Land Remediation Authority improve thanks to YouWorkForce?

For this context, YouCo established a real interaction between the operator and the equipment, a relationship that allows an optimal data collection of the plants. In fact, by taking a picture of a QR code on the equipment, the operator is automatically associated to it and, once the activity has been started, the resulting data are tracked and recorded on the application. Moreover, thanks to WorkForce Automation, the Land Remediation Authority is now able to manage canal mowing in the best possible way: a task that is certainly not easy, given that approximately 1,880 km of canals must be seasonally mowed and reshaped.

To ensure maximum safety for operators, who are sometimes involved in hazardous tasks, an emergency button was installed inside the machine: once activated, this button signals a fault or issue to the operator and alerts the operational center in a timely manner.

The operational center, used by the company’s headquarters, is the tool that allows the remediation works to be monitored. Through it it is possible at any time,  to monitor the work progress and the equipment positioning, thanks to geo-location via GPS. In addition to this, the operational center is able to manage the various shifts and the activities to be carried out on a daily basis in a timely manner. Finally, at any time, the operators can communicate the start and end of their shift with a single tap of the finger.

The project brought within the Land Reclamation Authority that sense of modernity so much desired. Traditional work methods were replaced by innovation and automation provided by the YouCo solution, which made the operators’ work efficient and safe and allowed the operational center to follow, step by step, the various activities over an extremely wide area.
