The task of ensuring compliance with current Italian legislation (Legislative Decree 18 October 2012 n.179, Law 4/2004 and Legislative Decree 7 March 2005 n.82) and EU Directive 2016/2102 on accessibility is the responsibility of AGID, Agency for Digital Italy, established in 2012 with the aim of promoting digital innovation and the use of digital technologies in public administration and the relationship between it, citizens and businesses, in compliance with the principles of legality, impartiality and transparency.
In particular, with reference to the issue of accessibility, AGID oversees the implementation of regulations by the interested parties, namely the Public Administration and, starting from June 28, 2025, private entities with a turnover exceeding 2 million euros and more than ten employees
E-commerce and Accessibility
With the entry into force of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) in June 2025, accessibility becomes an essential element for any online sales platform.
