ESH Care
ESH Care is an app for smart-phones and tablets (available in 9 languages) that helps hypertensive patients to keep blood pressure values monitored and to fight hypertension by collaborating in the best way possible with their doctor, as well as helping those who do not suffer from this pathology to prevent it.
The product was certified by two authoritative scientific companies: the Italian Society of Hypertension (SIIA) in partnership with the European Society of Hypertension (ESH).
YouCo also created a platform for managing and coordinating home and territorial activities, which also means Homecare. Potentials such as ADI, SAD, attendance, nursing, social and health services and home care coexist in a single system.
ESH Care is based on an innovative principle: the mutual understanding between patient and doctor, which makes it possible to develop the most “practical” functionality, as well as having a back end database both for private use by the end user and for scientific use (anonymously), contributing to the collection of Big Data in the scientific auxological field, needed to study the populations suffering from this pathology.
These are the strengths of the application:
- scientific validity;
- monitoring of pressure and anthropomorphic values of patients, connected or not connected (Presence);
- direct communication with the treating physician;
- management of pharmacological treatments with alerts for medicine administration;
- extension in a framework that will allow monitoring and cross-referencing the patient’s blood pressure, dietary and lifestyle data.
The app also has an educational purpose as it describes the most correct lifestyles to prevent and fight hypertension and the consequences for those who underestimate it.
User Experience:
To obtain the current interface, usability tests were carried out, including one using the “Think aloud protocol” methodology.
7 users were taken without being familiar with the app. and they were asked to perform 5 tasks; data and comments were recorded to identify issues and solve them, bringing these improvements to the new interface.
