Overview

SafeDrive is an application designed to ensure driving safety by blocking the use of an Android device when it is used by drivers of heavy vehicles. The main objective is to prevent distractions and ensure that the driver’s attention remains focused on the road at all times.

 

The app is based on an intelligent speed monitoring system, utilizing data collected from the GPS integrated into the device. Once installed, the application continuously samples the vehicle’s position and speed. When the driver exceeds a certain speed threshold, the app automatically activates a lock screen that inhibits access to all device functionalities and applications, such as messaging, social media, and other potentially distracting apps. This lock screen remains active until the vehicle’s speed drops below the preset limit.

SafeDrive aims to minimize distractions while driving, contributing to improved road safety for heavy vehicle drivers and other road users.

In addition to blocking access to apps, YouSafeDrive still allows some essential functions, such as using hands-free for emergency calls or accessing navigation systems. Speed thresholds and unlockable functions can be configured based on the customer’s needs.

Return to foreground

If the driver attempts to access other apps through Android buttons (Home, Recent Activities, Settings), SafeDrive returns to the foreground within 5 seconds, blocking the use of the device again.

Call restrictions

During the activation of SafeDrive mode, incoming and outgoing calls are blocked, unless the driver is using a Bluetooth device connected to their smartphone.

Protection against forced closure

Even if an attempt is made to close all apps, SafeDrive immediately reactivates.

Automatic lock

The device automatically locks when the GPS detects that the vehicle has exceeded a certain speed.
