Overview
Thanks to YouMTD (Mobile Threat Defense), the client is able to prevent potential hacker attacks on devices used in the company. These systems protect not only the devices, but also and especially the company data contained in them.
These attacks not only result in data loss or compromise but, if made public, can damage the company’s reputation, cause loss of profits, lead to fines and legal costs, as well as the loss of time and resources for recovery.
The combination of different features allows for the integration of YouMDM solutions already present in the company, increasing their level of security.
YouCo’s MTD, in addition to being a module of YouEMM Lite, can be easily integrated into MDM solutions already present in the client’s infrastructure. Through EMM, moreover, the IT department can implement protection and security updates directly on the device without any intervention from the user, respecting privacy and ensuring security.
Threats to mobile devices can come from multiple sources.
App-based threats
Malware and threats from infected apps downloaded through official stores (Google Play, Apple Store, …) or third-party stores.
Web and Content threats (Phishing)
Phishing can be conveyed through emails, messages with shortened links to harmful websites, obscured URL addresses, apps like WhatsApp and Facebook containing URLs that download threats based on malicious OS plug-ins.
Network-based threats
Attacks originating from vulnerabilities detected on Wi-Fi networks (Man-in-the-middle) to which the device connects (corporate networks, public places, etc.).
Device-based threats
Threats that exploit jailbreaks and vulnerabilities at the operating system level (Android, iOS, …).
The benefits of Mobile Threat Defense
Equipping mobile devices with effective protection allows the company to prevent external attacks rather than having to deal with them after they occur. This way, it won’t be necessary to face damages resulting from data loss or system recovery costs, while ensuring compliance with GDPR principles.
In addition to this, setting up an always-active MTD security system on devices will transform them into sensors that collect data on external threats. This data can be used by analysis tools to predict potential vulnerabilities and reduce recovery times.
Another benefit is certainly the overall control of all company devices.
