CV-Prevital is an innovative healthcare application developed by YouCo for the Cardiological Network in Italy, as part of a project aimed at predicting and preventing cardiovascular diseases.
It offers at-risk patients an easy way to monitor lifestyle data such as physical activity, smoking, and sleep patterns, and allows their doctor to follow up in case of concerning patterns. Additionally, it provides users with educational content to improve their lifestyle. The collected data can also help decision-makers in planning strategies and allocating resources for the prevention of such diseases.
The app shield supports regulatory requirements. The data is completely anonymized, but when handling personal health information (PHI), it is crucial to implement an application shield to ensure that no data can be collected from the app itself. In developing the CV-Prevital app, mapping the data flow was an integral part of the YouCo team’s work. A thorough GDPR data protection impact assessment (DPIA) was conducted.
